WEBINAR "Growing Inclusion: The Basilica of St. Mary's Services for Students with Disabilities"
We are excited to announce the 2nd installment in the webinar Series "Inclusion in Action" hosted by Porto Charities. The webinar will be on October 24th, 2022, at 7:00 pm. The Basilica of St. Mary has graciously agreed to share with us their thriving Mater Dei services for students with disabilities. The presentation will be followed by Q&A. This is a great opportunity for school administrators and teachers to learn about how to better serve their students with disabilities.

Porto Charities Inclusive Family Picnic
We are excited to announce our 1st ever Inclusive Family Picnic! (scroll down for map and to RSVP)
At Porto Charities, Inc. we are committed to embracing and celebrating our children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and we want you to join us!
Join us on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at 12:30pm at St. Anthony of Padua School (3305 Glen Carlyn Rd, Falls Church, VA). Porto Charities, Inc. will provide drinks and games, just bring your own food for your family. We will have a handful of tables and chairs, so consider also bringing your own blankets/chairs.
This event is FREE and walk-ins are welcome, though we will appreciate it if you register below so we can plan for drinks and entertainment accordingly.
This Picnic is sponsored by Porto Charities, Inc and hosted by St. Anthony of Padua School - one of Porto Charities 2022 Grant recipients, and a Diocesan elementary school with a program for children with moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event will be held outdoors behind the school. There's a playground next to it, and we will have access to bathrooms in the School Gym area.
This is a great opportunity to meet other families like yours in the Diocese of Arlington. We hope to see you there! -
Wednesday May 25th: Webinar "Speech and Occupational therapies in Catholic Schools"

We are excited to announce the 1st installment in the webinar Series "Inclusion in Action" hosted by Porto Charities. The webinar will be on May 25th, 2022, at 7:30 pm. We will talk about the private and public options for children to access Speech and Occupational Therapies at their Catholic Schools. We will hear from different models currently available at different local private schools and there will be Q&A following the presentations. This is a great opportunity for school administrators to learn about options to better serve their students with disabilities, and it will also be a great resource for parents who are looking to continue with Speech and OT therapies once their child is enrolled in Catholic School.

3rd Porto Charities' Mystery in Marrakesh
We are excited to announce the 3rd Porto Charities' Mystery in Marrakesh event to be held at the Springfield Golf and Country Club, on Thursday, April 7,2022 at 5:30 pm. The cost of a ticket ranges from $115.00 - $150.00 and includes an escape room-like game followed by a wonderful dinner and entertainment.
Event Description:
- An exciting evening where guests will be put into teams of ten.
- Each team will play fun games with the goal of finding the combination to their lugagge containing the tickets for the night's entertainment.
- Teams will take a tour in Marrakesh through various market stalls to perform challenges, tasks and solve puzzles to recover the luggage combination.
- Each team will have 1 hour to complete the challenge.
- New this year: Additional minutes and clues may be bought on-site!
- After the mystery is solved, all guests will be treated to a wonderful dinner and entertainment.
This is Inclusion in Action! Many of our guests are young adults with intellectual disabilities, who are able to fully participate in this event and they look forward to it each year. You can help us make this a memorable night for them, while having fun yourself!
